*September 20 workshop – The Power of Your Other Hand
Give a voice to your creative self on a completely different level, unearthing buried talents and inspiration. Unlock creativity and inner wisdom for healing and living the life of your dreams by accessing your right brain through your nondominant hand.
Lucia Capacchione, author of the ground-breaking book, The Power of Your Other Hand, is your guide for exploring the language of spontaneous art from the Playful and Creative Child within. In a safe, non-judgemental atmosphere you will break through creative blocks by letting your left brain know what your right brain feels and wants. Connect the hemispheres through drawing, followed by written dialogs using both hands.
These simple methods can be applied to stress reduction, physical healing, Inner Child and trauma work, and finding spiritual guidance within. Be prepared for fun through coloring and writing with both hands.
For everyone—artists/non-artists, and writers/non-writers alike! Talent or training in art or writing not required. Art supplies are included. Please bring a notebook or journal.
**September 21 workshop – The Creative Journal: Drawing & Writing Using Both Hands
The Creative Journal Method, introduced by Lucia Capacchione in 1980, is a proven research-based approach to letting the real you out and channelling your private inner world into tangible form. Dr. Capacchione discusses the power of your right brain and nondominant hand along with research showing the creativity, health, and healing benefits of Creative Journaling, including work with trauma, grief, relationship issues, and creative blocks. She will also share success stories and how the method has been used in schools, medical centers, support groups, and courses in writing, art and creativity.
In a safe, non-judgemental atmosphere, she offers journal prompts for:
Scribbling your stress away
Drawing your feelings out
Liberating the child within
Confronting your Inner Bully
Embracing inner wisdom through journaling as a spiritual practice
