As a corporate consultant, Dr. Capacchione provided management and
staff training for Walt Disney Imagineering (theme park design) for
ten years. She has also led career transition seminars and counseling
for such outplacement firms as Right Associates and Drake, Beam, Morin.
Her book, Putting Your Talent to Work, (co-authored with former Disney
talent specialist, Dr. Peggy Van Pelt), Dr. Capacchione's book, Visioning: Ten Steps to Designing the Life of Your Dreams, is being used in corporations and small businesses as well as in coaching with individuals doing personal life and goal setting. Dr. Capacchione conducts Visioning® workshops for leaders whose task is creating mission statements and visions for organizations and teams. In education, Dr. Capacchione has created model programs for such school districts as Los Angeles Unified, Lawndale and Garvey in California. Working with multi-cultural, multi-lingual communities, Dr. Capacchione applied her Creative Journal Method and Basic Skills through the Arts curriculum. In a pilot study in the Garvey District (near Los Angeles) under an ESEA Title IIB grant, reading and math scores were raised as high as twenty percentile points in one school year. This is a predominantly Hispanic and Asian population. Dr. Capacchione and her team of certified instructors implemented a two-year Creative Journal program for the Mission School District in southern Texas (grades K-12). An inspiring speaker and workshop leader, Dr. Capacchione engages audiences with playful and interactive experiences. She has been acclaimed for her ability to spark innate creativity and develop highly effective teams in business, industry, education, medical and mental health systems. She is a frequent guest on media and has been the subject of numerous magazine and newspaper articles and book reviews. |
